As we continue to expand our impact, we are seeking a passionate and results-driven Grant & Partnerships Officer to help secure funding and build strategic partnerships that advance our mission.


Position Summary

The Grant & Partnerships Officer will play a critical role in mobilizing resources that enable eduLET Africa to scale its programs and impact. The successful candidate will identify funding opportunities, develop compelling grant proposals, cultivate donor relationships, and establish strategic partnerships with foundations, development agencies, governments, corporations, and philanthropic organizations.

This role requires excellent research, proposal writing, communication, relationship management, and project coordination skills.


Key Responsibilities

Grant Research & Fundraising
  • Research and identify local, regional, and international funding opportunities.
  • Monitor grant portals, donor databases, and funding announcements.
  • Maintain an updated pipeline of grant opportunities aligned with eduLET Africa’s strategic priorities.
  • Develop annual fundraising strategies and funding calendars.
Proposal Development
  • Lead the preparation of high-quality grant proposals, concept notes, and funding applications.
  • Collaborate with program, finance, and technical teams to gather proposal inputs.
  • Develop logical frameworks, budgets, work plans, and monitoring indicators.
  • Ensure all submissions meet donor requirements and deadlines.
Partnership Development
  • Identify and engage potential strategic partners.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, corporate partners, NGOs, government agencies, universities, and development organizations.
  • Represent eduLET Africa during meetings, networking events, and conferences.
  • Negotiate partnership agreements and collaboration opportunities.
Donor Relationship Management
  • Maintain effective communication with existing donors and funding partners.
  • Prepare donor reports and project updates.
  • Ensure compliance with donor reporting requirements.
  • Support donor visits and partnership review meetings.
Project Support
  • Coordinate project startup activities after successful funding.
  • Track grant implementation milestones.
  • Work closely with project managers to ensure donor expectations are met.
  • Support monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities.
Documentation & Knowledge Management
  • Maintain a database of grants, donors, partnerships, and funding opportunities.
  • Develop organizational capability statements and partnership materials.
  • Keep organizational profiles, project summaries, and fundraising documents updated.

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in International Development, Project Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications, Development Studies, Education, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree is an added advantage.

Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in grant writing, fundraising, donor engagement, or partnership development.
  • Proven experience preparing successful grant proposals.
  • Experience working with NGOs, social enterprises, education institutions, or development organizations is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with international donors and funding agencies.

Technical Skills
  • Excellent proposal and report writing skills.
  • Strong research and analytical abilities.
  • Experience preparing project budgets.
  • Knowledge of donor compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
  • Excellent presentation and stakeholder engagement skills.
